Mission Statement
Purpose. Ethics Reviews & Comments is dedicated to promoting the thoughtful discussion of works in ethics. Its web-based format not only allows reviews and coments to appear in a timely manner, but also encourages responses to the reviews by authors and readers as well. In addition, because it is on the web, it is much easier to make it freely available to anyone who is interested in the reviews.
Scope. Initially, Ethics Reviews and Comments will concentrate primarily on books in ethics published by philosophers. We hope to expand quickly into works in ethics within various religious traditions, including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and indigenous traditions such as Native American religions. Gradually, we intend to expand into other areas, especially the natural and social sciences. Throughout this process, the guiding wisdom of our Associate Editors will be of great importance.
Flexibility. Again, our web-based format allows us greater flexibility than paper-based reviews. We can publish multiple reviews of the same book, and we can published exgtended comments as well as full reviews.
