Distinctive Features

Ethics Reviews will have several distinctive features:

• Quick turn-around time: We hope to have reviews available on-line within three months of receiving the book.
• Freely and easily available: Since this is on on-line review, it can be accessed from anywhere in the world at any time and without any charge.
• Author replies: Authors may immediately post an on-line reply to the review.
• Discussion forum: There will be a discussion forum for each book review. This not only allows reviewers to reply to authors, but also allows others to participate in the discussion as well.
• No space restrictions: Because this journal is on-line, we are not constrained by printing costs. Review length need be determined only by content.
• Book information: Following the lead of Amazon.com and others, we will seek to provide preview pages of the book, including table of contents, index, preface, front and back covers, where permission is available.
• Purchase information: Links will be provided to the appropriate publisher’s website as well as Amazon.com.
• Multimedia resources: When possible, we will attempt to supplement written reviews with audio or video
• nterviews with authors. We will also includes a picture of the author. These resources will depend on availability.
• Reviews integrated into Ethics Updates: When appropriate, links will be placed on Ethics Updates to reviews of books in specific areas (for example, Kant, virtue ethics, abortion, and animal rights). Last year, Ethics Updates received over 1.9 million visits (not hits, which was a much higher number), so this is likely to extend the readership for the reviews greatly.
